LAS VEGAS, Nev. – CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW – January 5, 2012MasterImage 3D, one of the fastest growing 3D solutions providers in the world, today announced it has launched glasses-free HD 720 resolution 3D display for a 4.3” smartphone and WUXGA (1920*1200) resolution 3D display for a 10.1” tablet.  A demonstration of the technology, showcasing a first-look at premium 3D content streamed through MasterImage 3D Media’s embedded portal and media player, will be shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week in the MasterImage 3D booth (South Hall, lower level, #21727).

All demonstrations feature MasterImage 3D’s Cell-Matrix Parallax Barrier with smart multicore OMAP4430 and OMAP4460 mobile processors from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), Chimei Innolux (CMI) TFT panels and the latest Google Android operating system. Continue reading

CES Partner Spotlight: Venture 3D’s Marcus Englefield and George Lee

Leading up to CES, we’re turning the spotlight on our partners to get their perspective on what’s happening in digital 3D. Today, we’re pleased to chat with two of the three co-founders of Venture 3D, Marcus Englefield and George Lee.

What does Venture 3D do in your words? What makes Venture 3D a great company?

Venture 3D is a 2D-3D conversion company that is widely regarded in the industry as one of the worldwide leaders in stereoscopic 3D. Any company is made great by 3 simple attributes: the quality of the work, the consistency of the work and finally, the drive and skill level of the people who do that work.

Tell us your role in moving forward 3D as a platform?

When we first started three and a half years ago, we cut our teeth on small promo pieces before working our way up to major Hollywood blockbusters. These last 18 months have been focused almost exclusively on theatrical movies, but over the last 6 months we have broadened our client-base to accommodate the other various 3D platforms that are opening up such as broadcast, commercial and mobile content. We were thrilled to do a global campaign for Nike over the summer and are currently working with a major publishing house to create 3D content for handheld devices. Continue reading
